Licensed Clinical Psychologist PSY#22443

With more than thirteen years of clinical experience, I have had the privilege of walking alongside people through some of the hardest chapters of their lives. I trained and practiced under the guidance of Bruce Yanofsky, Ph.D., Jorge Zapatel, M.D., Heritage Center, and the San Diego Psychology Center (SDPC), and I am grateful for the mentorship that shaped my work.

About

What Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, is built on a simple but powerful idea: it isn't only what happens to us that shapes how we feel, but also how we interpret what happens. Our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are closely connected, and when one changes, the others often follow.

How Mood and Stress Shape What We See

When we're stressed, exhausted, anxious, or depressed, our minds tend to work like a lens that has been tinted dark. Ordinary situations start to look threatening, and setbacks feel permanent. We may jump to the worst conclusion, assume we know what others are thinking, or see things as all good or all bad. These thoughts happen quickly and automatically, so they feel like facts rather than interpretations. At Crystal View Therapy, I integrate mindfulness practices to help you build effective coping skills and nurture lasting mental well-being through deeper self-awareness.

"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms, to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way"  Dr. Viktor Frankl

What is humanistic psychology?

Humanistic psychology is built on the belief that every person has an inner capacity for growth and healing. Rather than focusing only on what is "wrong," this approach looks at the whole person, including your story, your values, and your strengths. In therapy, you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace.

How Humanistic therapy helps heal and grow?

When you are listened to with warmth and acceptance, it becomes easier to listen to yourself. Over time, you may gain insight into what you truly value, how past experiences shaped the way you see yourself, and which painful beliefs came from difficult circumstances rather than from who you really are. That understanding can loosen the grip of shame and self-criticism.

Healing and growth go hand in hand. Therapy doesn't erase what happened, but it can change your relationship to it, helping you rebuild trust in yourself, set healthier boundaries, and discover strengths you may not have known you had. At Crystal View Therapy, I combine this approach with CBT, so you gain both deeper self-understanding and practical tools for lasting change.
